Everything You Need To Know Before Your Appointment.
Not at all. You can book a session directly with me. The only exception is for insurance-covered auto accident recovery sessions, which do require a prescription from your doctor. I’ll walk you through that process step by step.
First, we talk. Before you ever get on the table, I want to know what’s going on in your body, what’s bothering you, and what you’re hoping to feel when you leave. Nothing happens without your full comfort and consent, and I’ll check in with you throughout the session.
A one-hour session is a great starting point for targeted work on a specific area. If you’re dealing with multiple areas of tension or recovering from an injury, a longer session gives us the time to be thorough. When in doubt, reach out and we can talk it through before you book.
Just yourself. I’ll provide everything you need for the session. You’ll undress to your comfort level and be properly draped throughout. Nothing is ever uncovered without your knowledge and permission.
Your Massage Session
It depends on what we’re working on. Therapeutic work on tight or injured muscles can be uncomfortable at times, but I always work within your tolerance and check in throughout the session. There’s a difference between productive discomfort and pain, and I never push past what feels right for your body that day.
That’s entirely up to you. Some people like to talk through what they’re feeling as we work. Others prefer to close their eyes and drift. I follow your lead. If I find something worth noting, I’ll mention it briefly, but I’ll never fill the silence just to fill it.
Please do! It means your body feels safe enough to fully let go, and that’s exactly when the deepest healing happens. I’ll gently let you know when we’re done.
Most people feel deeply relaxed, sometimes a little drowsy. If we did significant therapeutic work, you might feel some mild soreness the next day, similar to how you feel after a good workout. That’s normal and usually resolves within 24 to 48 hours.
That depends entirely on what your body is working through. For general tension relief, even a single session can make a meaningful difference. For injury recovery, we’ll assess as we go and I’ll always be honest with you about what I’m seeing and what I think your body needs.
Mobile Massage
A one-hour session is a great starting point for targeted work on a specific area. If you’re dealing with multiple areas of tension or recovering from an injury, a longer session gives us the time to be thorough. When in doubt, reach out and we can talk it through before you book.
Most bedrooms have plenty of room. If you’re unsure, we can talk through it before your appointment. I’ll never leave you guessing about logistics.
Every mobile session includes up to 30 minutes for setup, consultation, and cleanup, so your full session time is dedicated entirely to you. I’ll also confirm your address in advance to make sure I arrive on time and ready to go.
Absolutely. Before I arrive, I’ll walk you through exactly what to expect so there are no surprises. I’ll share what I look like, what I’ll be wearing, and precisely how the session will unfold. I also ask that your name and contact information be shared with my emergency contact as a standard safety practice, which protects both of us and gives everyone peace of mind.
Yes. Evening appointments are available, which means you can schedule a session and go straight to bed afterward. That uninterrupted rest after a massage is one of the best things you can do for your body.
Auto Accident Recovery
The first step is to call your auto insurance company and ask whether massage therapy is covered under your medical liability coverage. Most policies in Pennsylvania do include this. If you’re not sure what to ask, reach out and I’m happy to help you prepare for that call.
es. You are entitled to ask your doctor for a separate prescription for massage therapy in addition to physical therapy. Many people don’t know this is an option. I’ll make sure you have everything you need to make that request
No. Once I have your prescription and your claims information, I take it from there. I contact the adjuster, confirm coverage, and handle sending the bills directly to the insurance company. You focus on healing!
As soon as your insurance coverage is confirmed and your prescription is in hand, we can get started. The sooner the nervous system begins to calm down, the better the foundation for everything else you’re doing to heal.
Insurance coverage is never guaranteed, and I want to be upfront about that. If coverage isn’t approved, we can talk through your options. My standard session rates are listed on the pricing page, and I’m always happy to discuss what might work for your situation.
It’s never too late. In fact, massage and physical therapy work beautifully together. I can share what I’m finding in your muscles with your physical therapist so they can adjust your program accordingly. Many clients find that adding massage makes their physical therapy more effective.
